Finland in world media 2021

An annual review of the Finnish missions’ assessments of what content and news were covered in foreign media related to Finland, and which strengths and weaknesses of Finland were covered in media during the course of the year.

In 2021, participation in the European Football Championships attracted the most attention for Finland around the world last year. At the same time, the top themes of previous years continued in the global press: Finland’s societal strengths, happiness and the response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
